Sorry everyone, I meant to type "Refuse callgirls" in the title. I'm constantly getting interrupted by the doorbell and it's some call girl. 2 hours later I'm tied to my bedpost with candlewax burns on my nipples and I'm out $400. WTF? Does anyone know how to make this stop? I've been ambushed half a dozen times by now. And things that shouldn't be are starting to itch.

Actually, I really just want Clippy the Microsoft Paperclip integrated somehow in the user experience. That guy was so awesome. They should re-animate him, maybe with an actual voice like Lee Corso's. That would be pretty cool.

I would like to export my Camtasia captions & timings to other countries but without the traditional tariff disputes. Does anyone know if this can be done with an eBay add-on? Or FedEX/UPS? With all the multiple languages of the world, I figure, retranslating my Camtasia captions could make me some good bucks.

I get so tired of always having to edit (and REMEMBER to edit) the HTML Title tag in pages created when producing Flash output, since I want MY subject as the title, not "Created by Camtasia Studio".

Support for recording sound output (while screen recording) from professional sound cards, which use WDM or ASIO drivers, currently not supported by Camtasia.

This has often been suggested in the forums. Do a search for "ASIO" there, and you will see that many users have requested pro sound card support, for years!

"I'd like the callouts to zoom and pan along with video zooming and panning. Example: I can't blur out a password while page is scrolling." This idea was submitted on behalf of a customer. - Troy

Captions can set the number of rows.
Captions can set the heigth of Background.
Captions will be able to set the font.
Captions can set the background color.

Show multiple video's at the same time. With overlapping & alpha transparency like in Adobe After Effects.

"Right now I can't remove noise from my voice track without messing up my music. I'd like to apply it to only one track." This idea was submitted on behalf of a customer. - Troy

I am producing a series of chess-related presentations and would like the ability to have arrows point directly on the chessboard's 45 degree diagonals to show bishop moves and on obliques to show knight moves.

It would be very helpful to be able to custom rotate an "Arrow" callout in Camtasia Studio.

In fact it would be even better (i.e. more flexible and user friendly) to have the ability to drag and drop an "Arrow" callout in the desired direction, length and location on the layout.

When adding text to any type of callout, I'd like to be able to do more formatting to the text.
For instance, I'd like to add bullets (and control bullet indent spacing, and text indent spacing), and wrap at the indent point.
Right now, I have to use a dash (-) as a bullet in my text.

Please support the Ogg container format as audio/video output in the production menu.

Firefox 3.5 plays Ogg natively, and Ogg support in Google Chrome and Opera is coming.

"CS still hangs on me every couple of days. I'd love to see CS faster and smoother, with fewer hiccups." This idea was submitted on behalf of a customer. - Troy

"Can I get some cooler looking titles with animation, 3d text, cool background images?" this idea was submitted by a customer. - Troy

A floating/overlay box which displays the current keystrokes and mouse buttons being accessed.
e.g CTRL+ALT+LMB

Options could include,
- font selection, size and alignment
- font stroke width and colour
- typeface/background colours
- use of alpha (instead of background colour)

We would like to be able to import MPEG2, MPEG4 and MTS (high def format from camcorders such as Sony, Canon, and Panasonic) into the Camtasia timeline.

Benefits: It would make it easier for us to incorporate video from different groups in our company. Currently we're using other tools to convert these formats into something Camtasia can import. In some cases, it has resulted in us using the converting tool as the video editing tool.

For example, we have used Pinnacle to convert video files from MTS to AVI. However, it just seemed easier to do the entire video project using Pinnacle and we by-passed Camtasia. I’d rather not have a reason to to bypass Camtasia.

Thanks,
Leo

"Put an image on top of a video without having to use custom callouts." This idea was submitted on behalf of a customer. - Troy

I ran across this capability with someone elses screen video.
It looks like this cannot be done in CS yet but maybe we should request they add it.

64-bit version of Camtasia for better performance and resource (memory) utilization

"In the studio Editor, I can add a voice narration, but I can't pause it. I'd like to have that feature." This idea was submitted on behalf of a customer. - Troy

"I'd like to have a callout fly-in or animate across the screen some how or pulse in and out or have a bouncing arrow." This idea was submitted on behalf of a customer. - Troy

"I'd like to see some of the things I'm used to in Premier or Sony Vegas or Final Cut. Things like multiple video tracks. Blank space on the timeline. If I remove a clip, the callout doesn't go away. The ability to control audio levels throughout the wave form -- sometimes called ducking and rubber banding." This idea was submitted on behalf of a customer. - Troy

Use the GPU on graphics card to boost performance of the rendering process.

It seems that only 1 of 2...or 4 cores is used, even when the processor affinity is set to use all. This is a limitation that I hope TechSmith can fix, because I love (need) camtasia!

At $99, TechSmith's new Camtasia for Mac is an excellent, new clean and elegant approach to screen capturing but for the 92.7% of us who need to provide training for applications running on a PC, it's a tease. After years of requesting DV support beyond just a webcam, seeing this feature in Camtasia for Mac is both encouraging and frustrating.

Camtasia for PC at $99 is what 92.7% of us also need. It should do everything Camtasia for Mac does plus:

+Full DV/HDV 64 bit, multi-core video capture that doesn’t drop 30fps to 5fps or introduce voice sync problems when a PIP video is captured simultaneously with the screen.

Camtasia Studio for $299 has many features that have been added over the last 10 years that some long time users may feel they can’t live without. But since Adobe, Apple and Microsoft recently moved to support a more universal MP4, H.264 video format, new users don’t need many of the narrowly focused and confusing set of features in Camtasia Studio. Instead, a more basic, easy to use, reliable $99 Camtasia for PC is a better value. I suggest TechSmith offer both to PC clients.
